Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the age range of players?

A:  Good Timers players are all older adults. Women must be 45+ and men must be 50+. Our

players are in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and some are even in their 80s!

Q: Do I have to live in Niagara Falls to play?

A: Nope! Players come from all over the Niagara Region.

Q: Do I need to have experience playing baseball, softball or slo-pitch?

A: We welcome players of all skill levels. Even if it's been forever since you last played, c'mon out!

Our veteran players will coach you.

Q: Where do the games take place?

A:  We play at the same diamond every week, so you'll always know where you are going! Check out

the location on our Schedule page.

Q: Do the game times change?

A: Just a little...Games start at 6:15 May through July and at 6:00pm in August.

Q: What type of pitching is it?

A: We're a slo-pitch league, but the pitching style is a mix of softball and slo-pitch. We play 3-pitch

and pitchers throw to their own team.

Q: Can I be on a team with my friend or spouse?

A: Yes! (Unless you want a break from your spouse.) On the registration form, you can request to

play with up to three other friends or relatives.

Q: Can I register a team?

A: Sorry, unfortunately we don't accept team registrations. When putting the teams together, we

carefully consider the skill level of all players, so that each team has a mix of newbies and

veterans. We do this to keep the competition fair and friendly.

Q: Will I be on the same team every year?

A: Every two years, we shake up the teams. Being on a new team every two years gives you a

chance to make new connections. It also helps keep our games more friendly than competitive

because friends are playing against friends.

Q: Do I need to bring my own bat?

A: If you have one, by all means bring it. If you don't, no worries! We supply all the equipment

    except for a glove.
